How Tumblr Changed My Life - courtesyflush
I moved to New York in late 2009, leaving behind all my family and friends in Miami. I wanted to figure out a way to keep them in the loop about what I was doing and where I was going without having to write lengthy emails. I turned to Tumblr and aimed to put a quirkier spin on the usual ‘pictures of my food’ or ‘pictures of buildings’ blogs. I had come across a few interesting and memorable bathrooms and decided to take pictures in there (possibly fueled by the gratuitous bathroom pic phenomenon). Its been almost 2 years now and I’m still doing my best to take pictures of all the bathrooms and try to capture the vibe of the bar or restaurant or bowling alley or library. I’ve try to incorporate fun articles, mostly revolving around NYC or bathrooms. Its been a way to document my move and all the developments along the way as well as show people outside of NYC what its like to be a regular person living in Brooklyn.
